About the journal
Chinese Journal of Phonetics was established in 2008 as the official journal of the Phonetics Division of the Chinese Language Society. It is sponsored by the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and published by China Social Sciences Press. The journal primarily publishes original theoretical and empirical research related to the articulation, acoustics, perception, acquisition, and engineering of Chinese languages (including Mandarin, Chinese dialects, and minority languages). The articles in the journal take the form of research articles, academic reviews, and experimental reports. The journal also collects introductory articles on experimental technology, experimental methods, experimental equipment, and laboratories.Chinese Journal of Phonetics is currently the only academic journal in the field of phonetics in China. In the process of establishing the journal, the older generation of scholars in the field of phonetics in China devoted a lot of effort. Prof. Wu Zongji personally titled the journal, and Prof. Bao Huaiqiao served as the editor-in-chief of the journal. Chinese Journal of Phonetics has also received strong support from many well-known scholars at home and abroad, including William Shi Yuan Wang, Bao Huaiqiao, Lin Maocan, Cao Jianfen, Xu Yunyang, Feng Shi, Wang Hongjun, Liu Lili, Zheng Qiuyu, Zhu Xiaonong, Dang Jianwu. A large number of well-known scholars such as Kong Jiangping, Shi Rushen, Chen Yiya, Chen Zhongmin, Tao Jianhua, Yoshinori Sagisaka and Gibbon Dafydd have published in the journal and made important contributions to expanding the academic influence of the journal.Since 2008, Chinese Journal of Phonetics has published 18 consecutive issues and published more than 270 academic papers in Chinese and English. It currently publishes two volumes per year. As an important academic journal in the field of phonetics research in China, Chinese Journal of Phonetics has been included in CNKI and the National Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation Center. The journal has been included in the AMI core collection since 2022. Manuscripts can be submitted in Chinese or English, and must meet originality requirements and relevant academic standards. Submissions are subject to anonymous review. Once accepted, the author must sign a copyright agreement, and format the paper according to the paper format requirements.
